Laura Kate Marshall’s multi-faceted career is a reflection of her deep love for – and commitment to – the sung and spoken word in all its forms.
A performer from the earliest of ages from a family of creatives, Laura recalls her first role as Rosa Parks (surprisingly) in a kindergarten school assembly honoring the lives of great women leaders. She went on to study drama and Musical Theatre at NYU, and complete her Masters in Vocal Performance with a focus on Early Music.
She has always been drawn to, and cast as, strong and often complex women as her last three can attest: Queen Alonsa in The Tempest (Delaware Shakespeare), Truvy Jones (Stagecrafters) in Steel Magnolias and Madame (US) in Cinderella (The Walnut Street Theatre.)
Highlights of 2024 included a debut with Penn Square Opera as Mrs.Nolan in Giancarlo Menotti’s, The Medium, singing for Andrea Clearfield’s 38th annual International Szalon in Philadelphia, performing the role of Beppe in L’Amico Fritz with Amici Opera as well as enjoying some fabulous summer crossover opportunities performing with Hall of Fame Blues/Jazz/Rock guitarist Dave Fields in concerts in the NYC metropolitan area and beyond.
In Autumn of 2025 Laura will present a special concert program by Victorian women composers; Echoes of Elegance, at Philadelphia’s historic Ebenezer Maxwell Mansion. From there she is off to The Walnut Street Theatre to join the cast of A Christmas Story- the Musical, for the holiday season.
Laura believes that art has the power to improve minds, open hearts and transform lives. It is her goal to bring the highest level of performance to audiences through traditional models, as well as unique programming – in beautiful spaces all over the world.
Laura Kate is a proud member of Actors Equity and SAG-AFTRA.
